DPM Reading

DPM Scanner (DPM Reader) is required to read DPM mark etched on machinery parts and other goods. Traditional Barcode label is not well suited for many parts and environments (i.e. hot, wet, dirty applications common in industrial processes). Manufacturers and end users benefit from unique and permanent identification of components, extended traceability, and high information content.

The DPM technology is currently in use in the automobile and aerospace industries, medical/ pharmaceutical and electronic industries. National and international standards bodies in the automotive, electronics, aerospace and health care markets are also supporting DPM deployment.

However, since the development of machine-readable DPM marks designed to be applied to non-paper substrates, the influence of these substrates on symbol image quality/decodability remains a bottleneck problem of the DPM Technology, restricting its application scope in different industries.

Specialized DPM Scanner is required “to read” DPM marks. Though these scanners provide “acceptable” technological solution, in most part they are prohibitively expensive.

We offer a cost-effective solution to this problem - DPM Reader integrated into the Adaptus 6.0 imaging platform (Xenon 1950, Xenon 1952, Vuquest3320g, Honeywell N5600) scanner to extend its capabilities into DPM area, transforming it into the DPM Scanner for the fraction of cost.

The product has been qualified by the Honeywell Scanning & Mobility for use on this platform. 2DTG is the Honeywell Total Freedom Certified Developer.

For high density images (cell size less than 5-6 mil) 2DTG offers DPM Adapter - optical addition to the Xenon 1950/1952 scanner designed to extend its capabilities into DPM area. Combined with DPM Plugin it increases effective scanner resolution on DPM Data Matrix symbols to ~ 3 mil.

For Honeywell’s Dolphin Family – rugged, multi-purpose data collection mobile computers – 2DTG offers Keyboard Wedge DPM Decoders and SDKs for Android to assist developers in building their own applications.

2DTG offers a DPM-grade decoding software adjusted for the Honeywell’s conventional reading platforms Xenon 1950, Xenon 1952, Vuquest 3320g, N5600 series OEM miniature imaging engines and Granit 1910i/1911i/1920i/1990i/1991i in the form of the “easy-to-load” datamatrix reader plugin, as a cost-effective alternative to the specialized DPM scanners.

2DTG offers a DPM-grade (“Direct Part Marking”) Data Matrix decoding software for integration with Honeywell's Dolphin (CT60|CT50, 75e) and HandHeld's Nautiz X2/X41 mobile computers to extend its capabilities into DPM area
