2DTG validates its DPM Reader for the use on Honeywell Dolphin 99EX Mobile Computer

Tue, 2013-01-15

2DTG validates its DPM Reader, built in Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 environment, for the use on the Honeywell Dolphin 99EX.

DPM Reader is a software program based on Data Matrix decoding software, developed by 2DTG specifically for Direct Part Marking (DPM), including Dot Peen, applications.

DPM Reader provides critical enhancement for Honeywell Dolphin 99EX Mobile computer designed to deliver multi-purpose computing, communication, and data collection at desktop-like speed, empowering workers to get the job done, regardless of location.

Validation included three components:

  1. Installing DPM Reader to Honeywell 99EX and validating its basic functionality.
  2. Licensing DPM Reader utilizing the procedure linking it to the mobile computer’s Serial number.
  3. Evaluating Dolphin 99EX DPM Performance.

In addition, 2DTG has introduced a new application - ScanWedge utility, that sends data from the DPM Reader to the foreground application as keystrokes (as if the data were entered via a keyboard).

This is particularly useful when working in the network environment with the software programs   providing a direct connection from a mobile device to any web or legacy host application - like, for example, a ClientMax - client software platform for mobile devices.

This new application operates on a Dolphin 7800 EDA, as well.

Dolphin handheld, upgraded with DPM Reader, demonstrates solid DPM performance – on par with the specialized DPM scanners in the market.
