2DTG Barcode Team has been specializing in image recognition software development for a wide range of applications since 1992. Starting to develop decoding/encoding libraries in 1999, 2DTG brought its first commercial bar code recognition and decoding software product - Data Matrix - to the market in 2002.
Since then we have developed decoding/encoding libraries for all major 1D and 2D symbologies and continue to expand our inventory of software engines with the new symbologies every year.
Our line of products includes:
- DataMatrix SDK – encoding and decoding software packages for one of the most widely used 2D Barcodes – Data Matrix. Our icDMatrix decoding SDK is recognized as the most robust decode library on the market.
- QR Code SDK – extremely popular 2D barcode on Asian market. Decode your QR Code by downloading our icQRC SDK library and compare its performance with competitors.
- PDF417 SDK - has proven to be an efficient 2D Barcode having Reed-Solomon error correction mechanism. Our icPDF decoding SDK is widely used in a diversity of applications and industries.
- Linear (Barcode) Decoding SDK – our icLinear decoding SDK auto-discriminates and decodes most of the popular barcodes including US postal codes (Postnet and IMB). As well as icDMatrix and icQRC it can be found on a number of embedded platforms (portable readers) in different countries.
- icATL-VIDEO – our latest decode product, integrating in one package both a Data Matrix decoding software and WEB-camera controls intended for quick and easy build of Data Matrix decoding module utilizing any commercially available WEB-camera.
- icMobile BC Reader – is an application designed for viewing and decoding Data Matrix and QR Code barcodes utilizing mobile phones with build in camera.
- icMobile BC SMS Maker – in addition to decoding Data Matrix and QR Code barcodes, utilizing a mobile phone with built-in camera, this application can prepare decoded data and send them via SMS message.
The “signature” of our decoding algorithms is its exceptional robustness which made our products best suited for DPM (Direct Part Marking) applications, particularly for automotive, aerospace and medical instruments industries.
Platforms and Operating Systems
2DTG products are compatible with the applications developed under Windows (98, …, XP, Vista), Linux, JAVA (J2SE, J2ME) and others.
Under Windows we offer DLL and ActiveX interface, which allows user friendly integration of icEveryCode™ decoding/encoding libraries into applications written in such languages, as Ñ++, Visual Basic, C# under .Net Framework, etc.
Under Linux (and, in some cases, under Windows) we supply a static library, which developers can build into their applications at the time of compilation and linkage.
2DTG also supplies decoding libraries for mobile platforms Symbian (8.0, 9.0), Windows Mobile (2003, 5.0, 6.0, CE) and J2ME (CLDS 1.1). Along with the libraries for those platforms, 2DTG also offers some applications for Smartphone’s and PDA's (PPC's or Handheld Computers) users.
With industrial applications, where specialized barcode readers are used, 2DTG provides services for porting software into such embedded platforms. The rapid growth of Direct Part Marking technologies has resulted in substantial growth of this market over the past few years. By now, 2DTG has ported its software on more than dozens of such platforms.
Delivery Options and Activation
icEveryCode™ decoding software products are designed with software developers in mind. 2DTG provides its customers with basic level libraries for all platforms. The level does not depend on the way the image was acquired because the program processes two dimensional data arrays, where pixel brightness is presented as a bitmap. A wide range of devices can be used to read bitmaps into the computer memory: office scanners, digital cameras, web-cameras and other devices for image digitizing. Images can also be loaded from files. Scanning and writing to memory is performed by the user software then icEveryCode™ recognizes and decodes barcodes on a scanned image.
The second level library is available only for the Windows platform and is an ActiveX library, which can be conveniently pulled up from Visual Basic programs. The ActiveX library contains additional functions for reading and processing JPEG, BMP, PCX, and GIF file formats. As a decoding procedure input you can also use a handle to bitmap. 2DTG libraries can be used by programmers of various skill levels.
Standard Delivery Package is organized as Developer Tools Kit and includes:
- Dynamic (Windows) or Static (Linux, Solaris) basic level libraries
- ActiveX library containing additional functions for reading and processing JPEG, BMP, PCX, and GIF file formats (Windows)
- User Manual (including Installation instruction)
- Examples of SDK incorporation into application (Source codes)
- Installer (Windows) – contains all above mentioned components, - implementing program installation into PC in accordance with the Keys and procedures, established by 2DTG
- Per customer request, software installation keys can be replaced by USB or Parallel dongle keys. (HASP® HL PRO by Aladdin Knowledge Systems)
- Professional SDK option can be supplied both in full version, and with some option only, per customer choice.

Evaluation SDK’s are free and can be ordered here. Evaluation versions are fully functional, but are time limited to 30 days after installation. (Linux & JAVA versions are limited by code size or MAC address)

Licensing Policy
Product are delivered only after signing Software License and Technical Support Agreement by both parties. (All Licensees must provide a verified physical address)
Technical support is free within 12 months after delivery of a product. Technical support beyond this 12 months is a subject of additional Technical Support and Maintanace Agreement per customer choice.
Templates of “Software License and Technical Support Agreement” and “Technical Support and Maintanace Agreement” are available from our Sales Department (sales@2dtg.com).
Unrestricted licenses are also available for OEM manufactures for porting our SDKs to there hardware or software platforms, subject to special licensing agreement.
